Fiber Curl Measurement System.

Manufacturers of optical fiber and optical fiber cable are increasingly being required to provide specifications on the degree of curl in the fiber that they are either making or using. Curl is a critical parameter, used not only in determining a fiber’s suitability for use in ribbon or tape structures, but it is also an indicator of the quality of the fiber drawing process, where parameters such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD) can be influenced by the fiber curl.
